About
Biography
I’m Mark Romanenko, Dip. NLA, MAPAI, a traditional astrologer and teacher based in Oregon. Through my practice, Paladin Astrology, I work with clients and students around the world online. I trained at Nightlight Astrology, where I earned the Diploma in Astrological Studies. I now serve there as Year One Course Director, assisting Adam Elenbaas in leading Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic. I’m also a member of the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI). My work is rooted in Hellenistic astrology, the tradition that gave us the birth chart as we know it, and I bring to it a lifelong love of myth, symbol, and philosophy. Alongside readings, I offer one-on-one tutoring for students learning traditional technique, building confidence in chart reading, or finding their way around astrology software such as Astro Gold, Solar Fire, and Nechepso. What I love most about this work is the moment a chart stops being a diagram and starts to speak, when someone recognizes their own life in it and sees it with fresh eyes.
Approach to readings
I practice astrology as an oracular art. A chart doesn’t hand down a fixed fate. It opens a conversation, and my role is to listen closely for what it’s saying about your life right now. My foundation is the Hellenistic tradition: whole sign houses, the planets as living significators, and timing techniques like annual profections and zodiacal releasing that show where you are in the larger story of your life. Technique gives a reading its precision. Myth and symbol give it meaning. Readings are conversations, not lectures. We begin with what you’d like to explore, and your own experience guides where we go deeper. I’m honest about difficult placements and hard seasons, and I always look for the agency and possibility within them. Astrology offers perspective and guidance, never guaranteed outcomes. Sessions are 60 minutes on Zoom. With your permission, I record each one and send you the recording and a transcript afterward.
