About
Biography
I am a therapeutic and experiential astrologer, a Primal and multiskilled therapist, group leader and professional trainer in my 42nd year of practice.
About the astrologer
I come from a working-class family with a Anglo and indigenous ancestry, and was initially trained as a biologist and archaeologist before a major spiritual awakening introduced me to meditation, then astrology and then therapy, spending the first years of my practice integrating astrological, spiritual and psychological life in my work. I spent two years training in Jungian therapy, two years in Primal Therapy and five years working with one of the pioneers of psychodrama, all of which I have integrated into my work and trainings. I have also taught meditation over the years and was the manager of a Perth meditation centre in the 1980s. I'm also a Sacred Tour Leader, taking tours into the Australian outback, particularly in the Kimberley, Midwest and South Coast regions of Western Australia, and annual tours and retreats in Western India exploring the Shiva Shakti spiritual traditions of that region.
Approach to readings
My readings are rich and multilayered, integrating traditional astrology, mice psychological and therapeutic background plus lifelong connection with deep and expansive spiritual practices. I focus initially on the natal chart, which includes both planets and a unique selection of asteroids in other bodies, helping people understand the different parts of themselves represented by these archetypes, their gifts and their challenges. I integrate this with their current transits and progressions, with a particular focus on how to work with their individual cycles, spiritually and therapeutically. With the individual's relationship life, I bring in archetypes that describe relationship evolution, transformation and the reclamation of one's deep sacred sexuality. I'm also a specialist in working with the healing cycles involving Chiron, Hygeia, Chariklo and Hecate, as well as with the reclamation of the goddesses, the sacred feminine in ourselves and in our birthcharts.

Experience
I've been a pioneer in astrology, started the first TAFE classes in Australia in 1985, created my first experiential astrology group workshops in the following years, was awarded a government grant to create my first business, the Orias Centre for Humanistic Astrology in 1988 with two other astrologers. I've been teaching consistently since that time including at university summer schools, private postgraduate institutions, in prisons and for social work agencies. I'm also a specialist in somatic and deep emotional forms of experiential astrology and have been training people professionally in this work for the last 23 years. These trainings are globally unique. As a group leader, I have run over 300 and counting, live, experiential in-person weekend workshops. In recent years I have been presenting at a number of international astrology conferences, whether live or online.

AvailabilityAs I am a highly mobile at this point in my career, most of my work is online and am usually available from Wednesday to Saturdays on the East Coast of Australia. Two or three times a year I have a working tour in WA running live workshops and am occasionally available for face-to-face readings.
